Windows 98 setup stops at copy file

I am trying to install windows 98 Se on a socket 370 M780mr motherboard with a 750 MHZ computer with a 30 gig hard drive 128 mem a floppy and a cd rom. Each time I try to install the computer gets to the line Copying files need for Windows Setup It then stops and the d:\ pointing at the cd rom is displayed I have trie an oem windows 98, an oem windows 95 and an Update windows se as well as a full install Windows SE any help would be appriciated

Try turning off the motherboard memory cache, and programed I/O for attached IDE devices

Is the cd damaged ? Try copying the setup folder to the hard drive first. If this fails then this would suggest that the cd is damaged. Then try installing from the hard drive.
