Ok, I have a IN530 Motherboard with the SiS 530/5595 Chipset and currently running Win98 SE. Now, I have 2 usb ports 1 works but the other doesn't, its like Win98 doesn't reconize it. I have pluged my scanner into the first USB port and the window pops up saying "Windows has detected new hardware" but when I plug a USB peripheral in the second port nothing, its like Win98 doesn't even reconize it. I need help.

Oh I have already tried the Microsoft fix for the USB but it didn't help any.

try removing the usb root hub in the system properties, connect the usb scanner to the 2nd usb port and then the 1st. windows will reinstall the root hub. i have the same chipset you do. now my digital camera and scanner work, both are usb.
