Comment: I'm dealing with this problem for weeks, i didn't found the solution. My computer is a Pentium II BX-3D 350 mhz, seagate 8.4, ATI Rage IIc-AGP video card 4 meg., 40x CD-Rom, Hp printer, HP Scanner. My computer freeze up in any application, and CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work, it freeze completely. I tried everything: - Reduce hardware acceleration (even to none) - Cleaning up of unused files - Reinstaling Windows 98 over Windows 98 - Run antiviruses - Look for hardware conflicts (in "System" if the control panel) - Checked with utilities to find for hardware problems - download the lastest driver for my video card. Everything was ok. In the internet are some tips that reflects some problems with the ATI cards, that can be fixed reducing hardware acceleration, but nothing else. And many people is having the same problem. I thanks before hands for any help. Cheers!

Reply: (edit)Frequently the problem you describe is cause by the from which you purchased your computer going cheap on the RAM and shipping 66mhz RAM that works "most of the time" at 100mhz.When applications that use lots of RAM are added, all of a sudden the problem appears. Demanding replacement RAM often solves the problem. As to the last respondent: even a Doofus can spot a moron.

Reply: (edit)Thanks for the help. I think is solved now. I get a 100mhz SDRAM memory, not after a good fight of words with the technician who sold me the computer.
