Can someone tell me how to write a .bat file that I can place into startup to release and renew the ipconfiguration.

Thanks

Jason,

Try this in your .bat file if you want to release and renew all adapters.

ipconfig/release_all
ipconfig/renew_all

Try this if you want only a singular adapter (find the number manually and insert where the # sign is):

ipconfig/release adapter #
ipconfig/renew adapter #

Running this opens a dos box in 98, it does the job, but unsure how to add a command to close the dos box after its been run.

Cheers

I have tried this. The ipconfig /release_all keeps running and never gets to the renew. I know how to make it exit. Just put exit as the last command.

Anything else I can try
