I have a totally wiped HP Vectra computer. When I start it up it tells me that "NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND".

I want to install WIN95, and I then insert my cd and restart the computer. But it never loads off the CD. I have tried using the start up disk I made, but it doesn't work.

Is there a place where I can get a disk that start the setup CD?

You can get a Win95 bootdisk with cdrom support from Bootdisk.com or you can get a startup disk from a computer running Win98 which has cdrom support.

None of the Windows 95 CDs are bootable.

What the boys are saying is that WIN95 CDs could not be used as a boot disk. You have to boot from a floppy boot disk which has CDROM support. THEN you can load Windows from the CD 'Setup' program.

Click here for the link Tom mentioned:

Thanks for your help.

I've tried making the boot disks as they show on bootdisk.com, but my system does not recognize them - perhaps they aren't identified as system disks? I have also tried using the WIN98 boot disk with my Win95 cd.

No matter what I do I still hit the road block:

Operating system not found
