Please help...I was trying to download a driver for a canon printer onto my computer, it said I needed for disk space, so I cleaned up some files. I accidently deleted some files that I shouldn't have. The day before I did a windows update by selecting from the toolbar Tools - Windows Update. I deleted these files not realizing that they were updates, not additional files by Microsoft. Well here's the problem now, when I restarted my computer, my mouse will not work, and the screen is smaller. Not sure if that makes any sense. I'm still able to log on to the internet, but I have to tab to everything and I just want to get it back the way it was. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks....Heather

Heather,
Uh, Well it sounds like your drivers had gotten deleted for your video and possibly your mouse. Do you know if you are using a PS/2 mouse or a serial? PS/2 connectors on a mouse are round and the connector on a serial mouse are sorta flat. Look and see. In the meantime, if you have your video drivers, try installing them and see if that fixed your screen, you may have to go to control panel/display to change the resolution(size) of your screen.

Hi TechQuest, thanks for your response, in answer to your question, I believe I have a PS/2 mouse, it is a Microsoft mouse port compatible mouse 2.1A. And as for the video drivers, do you know where I might be able to download the video drivers I need? Thanks, Heather

Heather,
It is best if you turn off your computer, take out the video card and look on there for a number that is the fcc id number or fcc reg. no.. It may look something like this:

4x2USA-34110-m5-e

Go to google.com and type it in. Usually you will find it in driverguide.com or video-drivers.com Something like that. If you can't find it and you know the specific model of you video card. Go to the manufacturers web site. It is usually under support. If you find a driver in driverguide.com. The username is driver and the password is all. Hope you find what you are looking for :)
