Hi,
Is there a way to make winamp automatically play songs when it startups? i want to add a task when winamp starts playing every morning to wake me up, but i can't find how to make winamp autoplay a list of songs.
Anyone knows how to do this? i'm using winamp version 2.666

If you know how to make a playlist with Winamp, do it. I don't know how, so I used Notepad to create a list of the songs. Then rename the file to 'wakeup.m3u' or whatever and put it in the winamp folder.
Then create a shortcut and in the 'command line' window type something like the following:
c:\winamp folder\winamp.exe c:\winamp folder\wakeup.m3u
Change 'winamp folder' to the real location of the winamp folder.

There might be a problem with long file names. If you have problems, put parentheses aroung them. Or else use very short folder and file names.
"c:\winamp folder\winamp.exe"

Hello gary,
i think you understood me wrong, what i want to do is make winamp play a playlist immediatly when i open winamp. Now i have to push the playbutton to start playing the songs, but i want to know if there is a way that you can just open winamp and the songs start playing automatically, without having to push the playbutton.

Depending on what version od Winamp you have you should e able to set that preference by going to:
Otions>Preferences>System>"auto play on startup"Cleo

I just tried 2.8, and the 'autoplay at startup' option is not there. I also tried version 3, and the option is there, but i don't like version 3, it takes too many seconds to load in comparison with previous versions. Anyone else knows how i can make it work in 2.8? maybe some registry tweak?

Hmmm...Picky, picky.
Just create a shortcut directly to your playlist. Make sure you edit the shortcut path so it knows to open the program, then open your playlist. probably something like:
"C:\Program Files\winamp.exe"
"C:\My Music\Mylist.pls"then schedule your little task to launch the shortcut.
