Hi, I just read in PC World that you can add
a smaill program called DropMyRights.
Basically you install the program 64k to
C:\Program Files\DropMyRights\ then modify
your shortcuts i.e. Internet explorer like so
C:\Program iles\DropMyRights\DropMyRights.exe "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\
iexplore.exe" (see this URL)

My problem is I am getting a error message:
THE DROPMYRIGHTS.EXE is linked to
missing export ADVAPI32.DLL Safer Create Level

And yes I do have ADVAPI32.DLL installed.

I don't know this program but are you sure it is suitable for W98SE?

I only had a quick glance and possibly missed the vital phrase but it all looked rather like XP to me.

As far as I know administrative rights are not part of the W9x package but I'm happy to be corrected on this. There might be some long since forgotten feature that I turned off in 1999.

I agree with DerekW. Windows98 has no adminstrative rights and the concept of Administrator doesn't exist in Windows 98. You cant drop rights that don't exist.

Different version in Windows XP. This application will only work in Windows NT/2000/XP.

"DropMyRights is a tool written by Michael Howard that allows administrators to run... "

Pretty obviously designed for WinNT (2K, XP etc)

The " ...is linked to missing export... " typically means 'wrong Windows version'

It's best to assume these days that most stuff you find in Google is intended for XP, unless it clearly says otherwise.

Administrator Rights and Windows Rights Management are two completely different things.

You still wont have Administrator Rights on a Widows 98 computer with Windows Rights management istalled. All that does is allow you to use applications and data protected by Digital Rights Management.
