hello all...

i have pc100 128mb + pc133 256mb total of 384mb memory...
but how come my memory is always low...
when the computer is on.. its about 75%...
then after couple IE, winamp, emails... its down to like 35%... then sometimes computer will freezes...
why is that?
any other ways i can fix this problem?thank you

You've got more programs running in the background than you think you do, which will slow things down and eat up system resources.Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG, then click Okay. When the box appears, click the StartUp tab. Everything listed with a checkmark loads during startup. Unchecking any of them will disable them from doing this. If you disable a wrong one or change your mind about one, you can go back and recheck it and enable it.

This is overkill I know , some information is not relevant , but for
those that are reading this question & learning rather than answering ,
they may get something out of these extra sites . John .

Similar to the way Windows works; to perform a given function there are several ways to accomplish it.
Which is most relevant is up to the user.
For example; to open My Computer, from the active desktop I can simply hit the letter M and hit Enter. (did you know you could do that?) This is one of many ways to open My Computer.
I am believing that John is offering a subjective answer to the posters question.
John is offering seven ways to comprehend the low memory problem.
