Today my windows 98se made a backup, but i don't know why...
and since computer doesent detect any hardware (like enthernet card, video card)
i have all drivers but windows doesent want to use them....
in device manager video card is refered as "Standard Display Adapter(VGA)"
but i should be Nvidia Riva TNT2 model64/64procould someone please give me awnser to this problem....

Exactly how are you attempting to install the drivers and exactly what happens when you do so--error messages, etc? Are you using a driver disk or downloading the drivers?

like usually with new hardware i use the "New Hardware found" dialog at startup, or i choose "Add New Hardware" in control panel. but at startup nothing happend, and "add new hardware" doesent find anything.
and when i try to update drivers to that video adapter that is shown in device manager it doesent "accept" those drivers.and i also tried video drivers installer(exe file) but no difference appeared.

Remove all the devices with question marks in the Device Manager. Then the reboot should ask for the drivers to be installed. Make sure that you have the right ones.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

Yeah, once they show up in device manager, even as unidentified hardware, the 'found new hardware' box won't come up on startup. 'Add new hardware' should find them and ask about installing the drivers.
The 'standard display adapater' is the generic driver windows installs when it doesn't have the drivers for your video adapter. For Nvidia you usually only need to run the .exe file from their site. Are you sure you have the correct one?
For general driver installation, when you attempt to install drivers through device manager by clicking on the hardware item and choosing to install the drivers, the process will look for an .inf file. That file will tell windows how to setup the device. But windows must be told where to look for the file. So you may need to browse the driver disk until it finds it.
Sometimes a driver disk will contain both an .inf file and a setup.exe file. In that case you can go to device manager and install the driver using the .inf file or you can run the setup.exe file from START--RUN or by just clicking on it.
When you download a driver it can be of several different forms--a .zip file containing the driver files, a self-extracting .exe file which also contains the driver files, or an .exe file that installs the drivers on it's own.
In the first 2 cases--the .zip and self extracting file--you need to pay attention to where the files are extracted as that's where you'll need to browse to in order to install the drivers. Once you browse there look for the setup.exe or .inf file in order to install the drivers. (Occasionally the self extracting file will run setup on it's own, but you can't always count on that.)
As I mentioned, the Nvidia drivers should install by just running the dowloaded file. If you're having a problem then you may have the wrong ones.
I know it's all confusing but after you've done it a few dozen times you'll get the hang of it ;-)

I have no idea what this means, and you seem to have taken several people down the path. How about starting over with exactly what happened and what you did......
