hi friends,
i have a system with win98 which is in local network (we have 50 systems in lan).. i shared all my drives.. so my problem is if some one trying to copy files from my system, is it possible to know immediatelythnx in advance
tagore

there is a windows utility called NetWatcher (or something like that) that tells you who is connected to your computer at the time, who is connected to what specific shared folders, and something else (i'm using a heavily locked-out school computer right now, so i can't look to see)

You say you share all your drives, is it the entire drives or a particular folder? One word of advice for you my friend. Check your permissions make sure nobody has full access to your system files before they mess your machine up. When you want to share out files on your drive it's better to create a new folder and put the files in that folder, then share only that folder with document, picture, software and other sthings like that. That way they'll be able to access just the files in that folder and not nothing else like system files.
You can also set the folder you share to Share Dependes on Password. You can have it so that with password #1 they can Read Only that folder shared and with Password #2 Full access incase you need to access that folder from the other peoples Computers.
