win98 msg (msgsrv32) what is this???

Hi all,
Just installed W98 on a friends conmputer and here is whats happening. When i attempt to shut it down, a message pops up
"An error is occured in your program........Msgsrv32..."
if i click ignore, then W98 starts shuttign dows but doesnt so i have to hit the power button......
