Hello,
Forgive me if this has been asked before. I am trying to install 98 SE on a clean machine. When setup completed, it goes to the DOS menu with the line "Windows has detected a registry error, please run SCANREG" - so I do this and it detects a problem and tells me to either free more disk space, or reinstall Win98. I've tried this three times now and the same problem recurrs every time. Ignoring the error
and launching normally gives a load of Blue
Screens.
Thanks
Bojan

Do you have enough hard drive space?

Minimum System Requirements - Win98
486DX 66 MHz or faster processor (Pentium recommended)
16 megabytes (MB) of memory (24 MB recommended)
120 MB of free hard disk space (typical installation requires approximately 195 MB of free hard disk space, but the required space may vary from 120 MB to 295 MB, depending on your computer's configuration and the options you choose to install)
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
3.5-inch high-density floppy disk drive
Display adapter and monitor that support VGA or higher resolution.
Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

Thanks for help. Cleaning didn't help much. I have enough space, RAM and processor power.
Than I removed one of mine sdrams and my opl 3sax sound card and installation was succesfull. After that I put my RAM and sound card back and system works.
But my sound card was not recognized by windows and I had to install it manually. There seems to be some problem in device manager and sound is not working...
