Jason Here
my comp has a few errors...
i just installed all of windows 98 SE and it all looked fine until i booted up and a few .vxd errors apperaed
it says...
Cannot find device file that may be needed to run windows or a Win application and that the devices dont exist
the files are:
vnetsup.vxd
vredir.vxd
dfs.vxd
so maybe if you could give me somewhere where i could get those files or how to fix the errorsThere is also one more thing when windows loads another error popup appears it says:
Windows Networking
Unable to load dynamic link library
System cannot find specifyed file
Microsoft Networking isnt available
the file is msnp32.dll
so thanx if you could give me help or just where to get the file that would be a big help.
thnx

Hi Jason,
Uninstall and reinstall Client for Microsoft Network.
In the Control Panel seclect Network.
Highlight Client for Microsoft Network and select remove.
Now reinstall it.
Click on Add and Select Client.
Click on Add and select.
Click on Microsoft and Clien for Microsoft Network.
Click on OK.
Click on OK again and restart the computer when prompted. You should no longer receive the error messages.
Best Regards,
Mesich

I'm having an interesting problem with Win98. I've done the updates in order and still I'm having a problem getting my sound driver back online. I have an M741LMRT Biosed motherboard with a resident CMI8738 sound card. At startup my system will often stall there and when rebooted after a "shutdown" from "Safe Mode" it will bootup just fine or I will have to boot from Safe Mode multiple times before it (OS) will push through to a normal screen. I think I lost my sound driver somewhere during a registry cleaning. (The system stalled before the registry clean also.) I don't have the disk, the computer was a gift from someone tossing it. It has an intel Celeron 4.5 X 66 mhz chip and XCEL2000. Startup is a stew and you never know what's coming. "Help"? Thanks anyone. P.S. What's the very best upgrade and repair manual or CD based PC repair home training course (including software) on the market?
