Comment:
Sometimes when booting Win98SE I get fatal exception 0E at 018F:BFF8AB97. The message contains no vxd, no module name, no file, etc. The last line in Bootlog.txt shows: "Initializing kernel". This problem occurs not everytime when booting. It occurs after may be 5-10 startups. Therefore i can't use the usual way to locate the problem by booting with stepwise incresead set of drivers.
Anyone who knows this problem and a solution to it? Any Ideas how to locate and eliminate the problem?

I am getting the EXACT error message/location myself. I tried scandisk and memory tester (run for 9 hours - no errors). I noticed my cable modem wasn't responding when I received the error (mostly at boot), and when finally booted (sometimes it took me two boots) I could not access the network. I didn't get the error for three days, but five times today. I also ran a virus check, all files, not just program files. No virus found. Network back up and I have a USB network card. No problems since network back so perhaps that was the cause?
