If you are having problems using Microsoft Backup for Windows 98 with CD-RW media, I think I found a solution that fixes most problems. The original version of MSBACKUP provided with Windows 98 does not support most CD-RW media. MSBACKUP was provided to Microsoft from Seagate Software which is now Veritas. If you go the Veritas site you can download Veritas Backup Exec for Windows 98 Version 4.2 which is the upgrade to the version provided by Windows 98. This new version supports just about every media out there. This link takes you to the download site. Hope this helps.
