I need help before attempting to install win98se (full version) over win95 on a Toshiba Portege 7010ct lap top - Pll 300 w/160 RAM.
Can I just install from win 98se full ver. CD without loosing my win 95 drivers???

If that's a Microsoft CD (not OEM), you should be able to just run the install. Very simple!

y do you need to keep your win95 drivers as you are gonna upgrade to win98se....you will need to install new drivers anyways
the best way to install window is to format your hard drive and have a fresh intall of watever OS you want

er...the best method for using a full version as an update(you will keep your current drivers and files) is to rename the file "win.com" to something else(win.old is a good choice)...what you will do is go to the "Find" tab on your start button find the file win.com and rename it, and then restart your machine and install win98....if you have anti virus program on your pc you will either need to disable it and uninstall and then reinstall it after you load windows...cause usually they will rewrite win.com if there is a change...plus it can goof up the installation of windows to have it running
