I assume you are installing from a CD
Easiest way to find out which file is corrupted is by trying to copy the contents of the cd into the hard disk, say 10 at a time.While a corrupted file tried to be copied, you get an I/O error saying "cant read from specified device" , the copy is aborted.
This way you will know which files are bad and those you can download from the net.
If more files are bad, this may be a bit labourious, but it works!
I dont know if there are people who remember which file is being copied at what stage of installation.
