How the heck did microsoft fit the CAB files on floppy disk? Did they make some kinda 2mb floppy or something?? Is there any way of putting the CAB files on the CD onto a regular floppy disk?????

Their floppies are formatted to 1.7megs or something like that, larger than regular floppies.
You can use "Winimage" that will copy large floppies like Microsoft's. Winimage is a free download, try ZDNet.
With Winimage, you can copy each cab file to a floppy from the cd disc. Be ready to spend all night on it, Win 95 to floppies takes a few hours. Bruce

How do i install win 95 again in my laptop
with win 95 floppies ? They are already
installed but seems few files are missing
or corrupted. I don't want to install win
95 from scratch.
What is the procedure of installing win 95
from scratch with these floppies. First i
have to delete everything on the hard drive.
How do i do that. Please explain clearly as
i am not very computer literate.
I will be indebted for this help.

found 2 different sorts of win95b (OSR2) on floppies both using win95b cd. Concern, making copies is legally just for backup (greetings from microsoft ;-)

variant 1
http://badour.freewebsites.com/html/w95_floppies.html
a. format 1 disk normal (1.44MB) and name it disk1
b. format 27 disks to DMF (1.7MB by MaxiDisk or GRDUW) and name them disk2, disk3, ... disk28
c. copy files to disk1: Deltemp.com, Dossetup.bin, Extract.exe, Mini.cab, Precopy1.cab, Readme.txt, Save32.com, Scandisk.exe, Scanprog.exe, Setup.exe, Setup.txt, Smartdrv.exe, Wb16off.exe, Winsetup.bin, Xmsmmgr.exe
d. copy files to disk2: Precopy2.cab, Win95_02.cab
e. copy files to other disks: copy Win95_03.cab to disk3; Win95_04.cab to disk4; ...
so you got it

variant 2
a. format 2 disk normal (1.44 MB) and name it disk2 and disk3
b. format 28 disks to DMF (using MaxiDisk or GRDUW) and name them disk1, disk4, disk5, disk6 ...
c. copy precopy1 and precopy 2 to disk1
d. copy SWINST4.EXE, wb16off.exe, insetup.bin, xmsmmgr.exe to disk2
e. copy deltemp.com, dossetup.bin, extract.exe, FORMAT.COM, layout.inf, layout1.inf, MINI.CAB, MSINFO.INF, OEMSETUP.BIN, OEMSETUP.EXE, readme.txt, rMM.PDR, save32.com, scandisk.exe, scandisk.pif, scanprog.exe, setup.exe, setup.txt, smartdrv.exe, SUHELPER.BIN, win95_02.cab
f. copy win95_03.cab to disk4, win95_04.cab to disk5, ...
if you need aol or compuserve, you need a file shredder and additional disks

please return wheter you succeed with this variants

greeting from vienna
tom
