When I start up Windows, there is an error message illegal operation Mprexe. None of the icons show up.

Go to the Microsoft web site and search their knowledge base on mprexe. It says it has something to do with a corrupt password file.

Basically I think you need to delete all .pwl files in the Windows directory and that should do it.
