win95 and ad aware

hi, i presently have 'aureate' spyware on my system. i was going to d/load 'ad-aware (ver 6)' but noticed that it was only compatable '98 to xp. can i assume its ok to use with '95 or can anyone suggest another method? cheers, georgio.

Hi Georgio, hello everyone,
You could use Spybot S&D, you will need two Microsoft updates if you don't already have them.
Check it out along with a link to the updates here
.
Be sure and update Spybot after installing it also.

I think the latest version of Adaware (6x) is for '98 onwards; you may need the earlier versions for '95.
Possibly it's still out there on various sites to download. Otherwise various folks probably have it and can email it to you?
However the reference file(s) will/may not be supported for the older versions - thus it's probably not wise to use it?

Adaware 6 works just fine with 95 . Ive been running it for a while now and every thing works great
