Win Update Error (0x800C0008) 98SE

All right guys, this one is trying my patience. I am a firm believer in updates, yadayada. **********I do have my original 98SE CD, which is not hot, it came with the 2nd computer I ever bought in my life, very legal!!!!!!!!!!! Problem, all of a sudden after umpteen years, it tells me it can not validate the update error: 0x800C0008) check date and time. Did this it is the correct time. What could be causing this annoying situation with a legitimate 98SE installation I have had for years. I dual boot and have for years as some of my hardware works in XP, somedoes not. Any help would be most appreciative. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!
