Hi Hope someone can help! I have a IBM laptop with only a floppy drive. I have used floppys to copy win98 on to the laptop. When i enter the windows 98 setup it all goes well but it stops at 7% what cab or file do you think i should copy again? becuase one must be currupt! Please help cheers miles

The funny thing is i just had this problem about 15 minutes ago. DAVEINCAPS gave me ideas.
I also have an ibm laptop 760ELD.
The only 2 things wrong can be either your cdrom is old (not working) or your cd is dirty.
Now if you are just using a floppy drive. I asume your cdrom isnot working. I doubt it is messed up. I had the similar problem. You just need to get a driver. Go to bootdisk.com and download 98 bootable files. Simply extract them to your laptop\computer. Boot it up and it will load a universal driver for your cd rom. It used this method and I just got done installing windows.
Dont tell me your dad got it from work. That would be funny in the sense i did.
