Win 98 se install freezing.

Hi I recently picked up a old A.m.a k6 500MH p.c with win ME on it. I removerd the o.s. (deleted log partition, formatted c drive etc.etc.) But when installing win98se it does all its c drive checks, free space etc. the jumps to D drive, and freezes on the free disk space check. anyone any ideas ??

Are you using a Win 98 boot disk? Or are you booting up off of the CDROM? The standard 98 boot disk creates a temporary RAM drive D: when booting up. Boot up with a 98 boot disk, and at the A: prompt, type fdisk type "y" for yes to the question about large disk support. Select the option (I believe it's no.4) to display partition info. Post back with exactly what it says there.

what my friend told you is right
i will add one more think
(this happend to me ).
you go to FDISK and try to redevide your hard disk
i mean delete the drive D
be SURE TO Dlete the DRIVE D
and it is verey easy to do that . you can do it your self
you can after that make new partition or leve it as only one drive
