Win 98 Randomly Shutsdown

I run Win 98 for a good 10 min and then it just shuts down on me. I also just reformated the computer so it is virtually new. Any ideas as to why? Please help it is getting very annoying...

Possible heat problem. Make sure the CPU fan is running. Check the power supply fan also.

Also check the Power Saving settings under the Screensaver tab in Display Properties.

this sounds like the battery is not healthy, Have you tried using this with a power adapter plugged in? You did say this was a notebook type computer?
