I have windows 95 loaded and want to install win 98 but it won't let me because it says I already have an operating system installed. What do I do to uninstall win95 so I can install win 98? Thanks

Rename (do not delete it - just in case...) the win.com file
You should then be able to go ahead.
Some useful '98 FAQ info at:
http://www.listmaker.net/win98/index.html
have good read through these first...

2 options available
1. If you are using a full version of Windows '98 you can either hide win.com (I think from memory) or I usually prefer to rename and hide the Windows Folder. (ren Windows Winold). Then attrib +h Winold. Copy attrib.exe from the Windows\Command folder to the root directory first though.
You may also want to rename the Program Files(progra~1 to progold).
Then proceed to install your clean copy of Windows 98. If you don't like 98 or run into serious problems you can restore your 95 as you will still have a full backed up copy. Of course you want to make sure you have enough hard drive space before doing all this. (Typically 150Mb).2. Run a copy of Windows '98 Upgrade over your Windows '95 installation. You need to have Win '98 upgrade - not a full version though as you currently have.
