Upgrading from Windows 95 to 98. Everything went fine until the end when a window popped saying
Msgsrv32 error
close or ignore
Tried ignore but nothing so tried close the Win 98 booted up for the first time.
Now whenever I shut down I get this error message. I click close then get
performed illegal operation. Click ok then Win 98 shuts down
Annoying to click twice to shut down What can I do?
Howdy, Could be a number of things. First try and change the windows shutdown sound to none. You can do this via the control panel and use the sounds icon and scroll down through the list till ya find the one that says, Exit Windows, if the sound file is corrupt it can cause this problem. Also, try upgrading your sound card drivers as well. The Msgsrv32 error message is very elusive and everyone has there own fix for it. I have access to TechNet which is Microsofts database on all of there products and you get alot of responces back when you type in msgsrv32 and do a search on it. One other note is try to see if you can duplicate the error in safe mode as well. If you have anymore questions, post them here our e-mail me.
