the mind is like a parachute it only functions when open.
Get Windows 98 SE Special Pack 2.1a and update the Windows 98 SE En system files. You can experiment all the options offered by the program and get the updates for this Windows system at the same time. The 17 Mb download freeware program is safe even though unofficial. It is not intended for Windows 98 first edition. With an antivirus and firewall you can safely surf the Web or network your computer.Programs used in combination with Windows like IE or MP are not updated but the system files are updated including the networking. http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthrea... http://exuberant.ms11.net/98sesp.html Good luck.
Download your troublesome 823559 update from the Corporate site or the WinUP Catalog site and then apply it two times in a row without rebooting in between attempts, it should 'take' and Belarc should now show it as good to go. 823559 was unique in this aspect and I have to do it that way too, don't know the exact why of it. Offline installation of updates is always the better way to do it.
