Hi,
I have a win 98 machine which has been working fine with an external 4 port usb hub. everything has worked fine for months. Then the other day I decided to install a 8 in 1 card reader with the supplied drivers for win 98. This worked kind of, but then decided to uninstall the software. Came to reboot the PC and the USB port hub will not activate. If I look in device manager, then there is the yellow exclamation! When i try to install a driver for this hub i get the following msg " The NTKERN.VXD device loader for this device could not load the device driver (code2). But it asks me for win 98 cd. Put this in the drive, then get another msg "The file usbhub.sys could not be found on the cd". ??? if I try to refresh the driver then I get the blue screen of death. However if I do CTRL+ALT+DEL it takes me back to the desktop screen and I can use the PC and Internet without any problems. Please Please can somebody help!

When it asks you to put the 98 cd in , do so , then direct it to d:\win98, then double click on the win 98 folder then it should locate it

Or you may try this
From the Device Manager, you should click the highlighted USB hub, then click the Remove button at the bottom of the dialog. When you restart your computer, Windows should detect the hub again and automatically install any necessary files. Restart your computer once more and your USB devices should be working" It'll Get Ya When You Aint Lookin "
