Please Post back to let us know if we helped

Sometimes they put them in c:\win98
Search for Win98_40.cab (which should have a stack of other cabs with it). If you don't find it, and the rest, then W98 has not been copied onto the HD.
Otherwise there's no way to construct a W98 installation disk from a normal Windows load if that's what you mean.

You most certainly can, if as others said, you have the "cabs" somewhere on the hdd. I don't remember what all I used, but I did this for a couple of machines. One belonged to a friend, envolved ME, the other was 98 first. At the time I had no CD's for either.
I copied all the cabs, as well as the "command" folder, and made SURE that I had things like format, fdisk, etc, and of course "the key."
Then I made and tested a startup floppy, and in my Nero, it can use a bootable floppy to make a bootable CD. easy.
