Here is my problem.

I attempted to install Win 98 upgrade over my Win 95. Everything was going fine until with about 14 min. to go in the install the computer would freeze when it was time to look for any plug and play devices. I read in my help section to restart the computer and try again, and that it may take several restarts. After not succeeding for several hours I came up with the brilliant idea of reinstalling Win 95 via boot disk and CD. Now I cant do anything with my system. No safe mode will work for 95 or 98. Any heroes out there?

You might as well format and re-install the Windows 98 upgrade. The computer will ask you to insert the Windows 95 CD to check that you have a copy of it.Keep in mind that the detection routine may freeze the computer and that you power off the computer to let it continue(do not use Ctrl+Alt+Del).
format C: /q /u
Good luck.

Thank you.

At the C:\ i just type in q/u or
C:/q/u

The slashes are different, I just want to be sure. Then what happens?

Here's another question. Can I create another startup disk from another computer running the same operating system?

Yes, you can, if you're confident that the other PC is virus-free.

You can also create one directly from your Win98 CD. Go to tools\mtsutil\fat32ebd & follow the directions in fat32ebd.txt.
