Is it alright to use any microphone with my computer or does it have to be a certain type? I have one that came with my other computer and i want to use that one with another computer. Would that cause a problem? I wouldn't think it would but i want to make sure first.

Any microphone will do fine. As a matter of fact, even headphones can be used as a microphone... -SN

actually, some of the newer highend snd cards (newer creative sound card) have an impedence rating for the microphone... in that case for best results use the specied one....else for most snd cards as SN said, just any microphone will do!
