Hi,

I am trying to help someone get rid of their old Windows 95 PC, but want to back the data up first. I have two options for backing up the data, but would be grateful if you could advise if these will work (and if not, any other suggestions). It's quite a long journey to go and help, and I didn't want it to be wasted!

I can connect the drive as a slave to my XP PC, but will XP recognise it?

I have an IDE to USB cable, can I connect the Windows 95 drive directly to an XP USB port?

Many thanks for your help,

Kind Regards
Graeme Crook

Will this work the same with a laptop HDD (30 Gig)? From one laptop HDD (98SE installed over 95--can't boot, but I know the files are still intact) to a laptop running XP. Thanks!
