Hi,
I really don't understand what's i'm doing wrong with the BCC field in Outlook Express, Hotmail or Eudora. I tried to understand how using the "Blind Carbon Copy" and I never understand. For example, I composed a mail like this :
TO: alfred@hotmail.com
BCC: gaston@hotmail.com; gerard@hotmail.com
Subject: Blah blah
Body: Blah blahI SUPPOSED THAT :
---------------------------
In alfred@hotmail.com's mailbox :
Alfred can't see that I send copies to gaston@hotmail.com and gerard@hotmail.com.In gaston@hotmail.com's mailbox :
Gaston can see the message were sent to alfred@hotmail.com but not to gerard@hotmail.com.In gerard@hotmail.com's mailbox :
Gerard can see that the was sent to alfred@hotmail.com but not to gaston@hotmai.com.REALITY :
---------------------------
WHY THE HELL THAT THE THREE CAN SEE TO WHO I SENT THE MESSAGE?!?!?! Each recipient received the message including in the "TO" field the 3 recipients e-mail (even if 2 were blinded!)Here's the message received by the three recipients :
From: Troll
To: alfred@hotmail.com;gaston@hotmail.com; gerard@hotmail.com
Subject: Blah blah
Body: Blah blah------------------
Is anybody can tell me how do I can use that field to send "BLIND" email.?
Thank you

what version of outlook express?
I tested the BCC field in outlook 2000, XP, outlook express 6, seems to work fine.

Outlook Express 6.0 on Win 2000
I tried on the latest version of Eudora and on Hotmail and I've got same results. Maybe I use it badly?

Talk to your ISP support about it, and whether their mail server supports it. Your contacts should be getting a message " recipient list suppressed" instead of the group email list.
I use BCC in Eudora, Hotmail and Netscape and never a prob. Sorry don't know about outlook or Oe , I don't have them to worry about.

WAD - Working As Designed.
BCC recipients can see who the email was sent to, but TO or CC recipients cannot see the BCCs.
This is used in the corporate world mainly to CYA by sending a BCC to the boss showing him what was said and to whom.
If you want everyone blind (ie, each thinks they are the only recipient) put EVERYONE in the BCC.
HTH.
