IE is defiantly faster but less reliable than Netscape personally i find Netscape really slow.

Netscape is not reliable when used with aol. It freaquently will give "server not responding" error and you have to keep trying
the link to where you want to go.

My opinion, Explorer is faster loading and quicker on page retrevial.

Netscape has ALWAYS produced more errors than Explorer for me. I use both consistantly for website maintainence and personal use.

My $.02,

Ken

Netscape clearly is faster for me. Faster in retrieving a standard page, faster in downloading multiple files. You need both. Many sites won't display properly in Netscape, and Internet Explorer is a pain to use.

I like Netscape...but I'm still using 4.5, loaded from the CD, kept hearing newer versions got slower without any new features I was dying for

When I have to give it up [AOL now owns Netscape so it's got to get worse] I think I'll try Opera, don't want the hassles of IE, might be worth paying for Opera

The real bottleneck is your internet connection - modem or network. Both Netscape and IE are very similar (negligable differences in speed). It really comes down to which you rprefer the use of. Most modern browsers support the same level of Java, Javascript and CGI.

Hope this helps

IE will obviously load faster as it is an integral part of the Win9* operating system and therfore you dont need the extra installation of netscape unless of course you are a webmaster
