where's windwos 98?

when i turn on my computer, it reads only the floppy drive. after that, it says,"insert bootable media in appropriate drive". what does that mea? im not able to start windows. thanks and how can i start up dos prompt so i can load my start up disk? thanks

Enter your CMOS Setup, by hitting DEL or F1, or something depending on your PC, and look for boot sequence, what does it say there? Try putting C: as the first boot device. By the way, when you look at IDE devices in the CMOS, does it list your HD as being there? raincheck

its not letting me do that. when i put the disk in, it stills says the same thing. what can i do now? and its not reading the ide cables and stuff. thanks
