Where's my CD Sound??

Any suggestions? When I insert a music CD into my drive, it starts to play (I see the counter moving) but there is NO sound at all. If I put in a regular Windows CD or a new program CD, the sound is great. What am I missing? It stopped working a week ago. It's an older Compaq MMX and worked fine until last week. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -

There is a small cable that goes from your CDROM to the sound card that is required to play music CDs. Check to see if it came unplugged from either end.
