where are the missing Mhz??

after a game crash i had to manually reset the computer. and at the load pages (shortly after reset) what do i see? My computer hasnt got 500 Mhz anymore (the original value) but 333mhz! can someone help me over here?

try looking in your bios to see if you can reset your processor speed to what it was.

Maybe it lies.

Get the free 400kb standalone program SeePU.

It will show you what you have running.

You didn't buy this machine used and it was changed to read 500 instead of the real speed of 333 did you? I hope not.

I do not think that any kind of crash will change your processor speed. (I have been wrong before though)

i've had this com since 1999 and i really think its original speed was 500 mhz!

Since you didn't give any specifics, this is only a guess...somehow your FSB reset itself from 100mhz to 66mhz

5 x 100mhz FSB = 500

5 x 66mhz FSB (actually 66.67) = 333
