Hi Asakura-2pm-,
I would suggest that you first download
Ad-Aware and remove the several adware and spyware programs on your computer.Use the link below to determine what you need and what is not necessary in your startup list.
Good Day!

Kazaa requires the spyware to run. 'Fixing' it with Ad/Aware will render Kazaa uselsss and the Newdot crap will keeep you off of the net when you remove it so I suggest you read up on it before removing these things.
RM has some good reading resources on the subject http://computing.net/windows95/wwwboard/forum/121041.html.
I hear KazaaLite is a good replacement for Kazaa because it does not have the spyware. (I have never found the need to use either)

If you want to use Kazaa WITHOUT the spyware, get KAZAALITE from http://www.kazaalite.com -the spyware is "cl_clint.dll", which is a DUMMY file in kazaalite; all the ads and spyware is stripped. Once you run Kazaalite, NEVER UPDATE IT if you get a pop-up asking you to (this is from Kazaa.com and you'll get the spyware .dll back again)
A GREAT program in addition to AdAware is "PestPatrol", which even found a trojan on my system that Norton2003 didn't.If you use Win2K or WinXP, see this list here http://www.blkviper.com to use services.msc to disable unneccessary startup files (Rather than msconfig).
