I was wondering what is the fastest AMD processor out for laptops? the fastest one ive seen on the net is a 1.53GHz. And also whats the best AMD processor to get and what companies sell them?

Asb far as performance goes - check the manufacturers web site.

Companies that sells them? Check your local directories. Myself, living in SA, will not help a lot for someone living in USA, CD, JP or else.

Theres a good chance a faster one by the end of the month an an even faster one buy the end of the year.

Hi all, iv'e been told that amd is faster but can't handle the heat as well. I have both, well had the amd fried now have two intels celeron & pentium. Interesting link here.

If you are frying amd processors, then your ventilation fans suck. I have a dual processor
motherboard running 2 amd 1.6 GHz processors and have huge heatsinks and fans.

AndyPanda is right. I run an Athlon XP 1800+ with an all-copper heatsink/fan and the temp right now is 42C. Pretty respectable for a high speed chip.
