Smasherooni Virusso is the best.
It is made by Mcgonagul Software and Sausage Company. The program doesn't actually rid your system of the virus, but rather it finds the virus and then beats the crap out of it.
Hope this helps.

NO ANTI VIRUS software is the best software. Every piece of antivirus sw I have tried (solomon's, norton, mcafee) does nothing except mess with your system.. they all suck system resources, they run 24/7 in the background, cause gpf's up the wazoo, bsod's, you name they do it. AND they won't protect you against worms.

I have not had any problems with my anti-virus software. I run Norton 2000 and have McAfee 4.3 dormant as a backup to scan manually only. Sometimes I switch them around. Since checking with both and running one constantly, I have not had a virus, trojan, etc. I also run Zone Alarm as a firewall and absolutely love it.

The best virus scanner is generally the one that was released most recently among the big names, such as mcafee and norton. All of them are available freeware or shareware. The dat files MUST be updated often for any effectiveness, but far more important is that you download a new virus scanner periodically. In fact, periodically rotating through the different virus programs may work best because each will catch viruses the others don't detect.
However if you avoid high-risk activities (opening files from your e-mail, downloading illegal software, using disks or software that have been in others' computers), you are unlikely to encounter a virus.
