Way to use diskette to get CD-ROM runnin

Is there a way to get access to the CD-ROM and Win95 right at boot time by using a diskette? My CD-ROM is having SW troubles caused by trying to get an external CD-RW to work (unsuccessfully) but the diskette drive is working okay. I'm thinking that I could load some code onto the diskette that would get the CD-ROM "initialized" so I could then re-install Win95 that would hopefully correct things.

Create a boot disk from Add/Remove programs Startup Disk tab, should give you CDROM support, if not download one from www.bootdisk.com

Win95s startup floppy does not include cdrom support. The one from www.bootdisk.com does have cdrom support, however I kinda doubt if a Win95 reinstall is going to fix your problem. I would suggest that you repost with more details on you cdrom problems.

Responder Number 2 is correct - the method suggested by Responder Number 1 doesn't work. I will go to bootdisk.com and see what is there, then try when I get home.
