Do you have a netscape browser installed? This would be where your default installation would be at. If there is no netscape installed on your machine it doesn't know where to go.

I believe there is a setting in WINAMP where you can choose what kind of files you want WINAMP to open, WAV, MP3 etc. Maybe WAV isn't selected?

Ok, after some research, I think there are two possible solutions. The first is to install "mpeg.exe" (winamp mpeg???) and this should reconfigure the winamp player.

The other way, as far as I can tell, is to configure one of the winamp input plugins by adding 'wav' as a file extension. Got this off a German site so there is a bit lost in translation.
destination format. " By a configuration modification you recover this problem.
With the combination of keys [ Strg p ] open you the dialog Winamp Preferences.
Select in the left window the file PlugIns/Input. Mark on the right in the list input
plug in the entry zero often the MPEG audio decoder plug in v2.28 (x86) and click
you on Configure. In the dialog MPEG audio decoder settings for towards it within
the area file of type of register general the missing type of file in addition. Enter in
addition the ending wav into the field Additional Extensions (seperated by
semicolons). With OK ONE and CLOSE you take over the modification.
WinAmp plays now also MP3 coded files with the ending wav.
