Comment:
I have 8 networked workstations that suffer from intermitent hanging on shutdown (some more than others). I've read numerous articles on the subject - installed the patch - disabled fast shutdown etc. The Microsoft article on this suggests upgrading to ME or disconnecting from network (neither are really practicle options) I seem to recall reading that there is a special patch for mapped drives - if it exists could someone post me a link pls?

I beleave that the Win98se shutdown patch is the mapped drive shutdown patch (same patch). The best way around the shutdown problem I've found is to first log out of the machine (back to logon screen) then ctl-alt-del and press shutdown - This seems the stop the hanging. I admit still a pain in the arse but it works.
