VXD VMM (01) HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I KEEP ON GETTING THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH AND GETTING THE ERROR VxD VMM (01). NOW IVE JUST RECENTLY UPDATED EVERYTHING IN MY COMPUTER EXCEPT THE CPU AND THE MODEM. I KNOW THE CPU ISNT OVER HEATING SO IM THINKING COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THE MODEM IS AT FAULT. MAINLY DUE TO THE FACT I MOSTLY GET THESE ERRORS WHILE USING THE INTERNET.
SO IF ANYONE COULD HELP AND POSSIBLY CONFIRM IT COULD BE THE PROBLEM I WILL BE VERY GRATEFULL.
