VXD Error while installing Win98 SE

Hi. Sometimes I encounter a VXD Error while installing Win98 SE and I can't seem to isolate the problem. My hardware setup are as follows: - Redfox AGP-ALI mobo (Alladin5 chipset) - AMDK62-500MHz (100Mhz x 5.0 using 2.2v) - S3Trio3d/2X AGP vga card - Apacer 64MB SDRAM
Hope somebody can give me a hint on how to solve this problem. Thank you in advance.

Boot to safe mode and insert the disc and upgrade

I've just had the same problem. Win98 SE install, even same cpu (AMD K6-2). Tried to install dumb Win98SE several times. Uninstall all display adapters beforehand, agp/card drivers first. Make sure no broblems showing up in device manager beforehand. Cancel Win98 orig. efforts to install drivers upon reboot. Install Win98 SE first, then Display adapters and so on. All one big headache.Oh, then make sure IRQ settings are not conflicting. My prob. was *.vxd kept crashing before succesfull install of SE/ traced to display/video card problem with drivers.

Ciao a tutti!!! Ho un piccolo.....o grande, non sò. Non riesco più ad avviare windows (98).Il messaggio d'errore è: non si riesce atrovare il driver"dfs.vxd". Cosa posso fare???Dove posso trovare questo driver?? Grazie in anticipo!!!!!!!!!
