I removed a harddrive from a machine and used it somewhere.
When i remounted it, i got the following problems:
During booting up it did not detect the harddrive, but through up the following message
conflict I/O Ports : 378
I then pressed F1 to continue but the following message poped upVMM32.VXD is required to run Windows
If this file is not in the path you may need to reinstall windowsAlso went into setup and auto detected the HDD but the same error came up again

Hi fmatsika, hi everyone,Take care because this VMM2.VxD problem is rather tricky and can lead to reinstall Windows if you're not aware!
First of all, know that VMM32.VxD can't be copied from another computer as it is created at installation of YOUR system!Have a look at this very good site: http://www.infinisource.com/techfiles/vmm32.html

Be sure to check your cmos settings. The:
conflict I/O Ports : 378
is coming from the bios. 378 is usually an option for a parallel port address. You may have an add-on card at that address that's causing a conflict with an on-board port.
I know you've used 'auto detect HD', but you may want to just set the HD at AUTO if you have that option.
