I upgrade(?) my motherboard with a PC Chips M590 with onboard VGA and 300 MHz AMD-3D now chip. I am getting an error message that the vmm32.vxd library is wrong versioon or invalid. win98 still boots, but the monitor goes into permanent sleep 10 seconds after trying to run any good game. Other programs run OK. I have direct X6 installed. Help

I'm getting a error stating that vmm.vxd and other vxd files are either damaged, missing or the wrong version. Is there a way to get these files or replace them without reloading win98? i also don't have the master cd, bootdisc or the win98 cd.

Error message at boot up windows 98 - vmm32.vxd library is wrong or invalid version, and packs it back, then the rest is quite normal. Could someone please advise correction of the error and also what are the potential causes and effects of this?

Library invalid or wrong version. VMM.VXD not loading. Library unpacks then packs it. Windows 98 version 1. All updates to date ore installed. This is causing much instability.
