Subject: .VMF file format
Comment:

I recently installed (and downloaded the most recent upgrades) to Faxworks. This is a Fax/Voice Telephone Answering program originally installed on my Packard Bell. I tried to listen to the default Answering Message, and also tried to create a Custom Answering Message for my phone, but cannot hear any of the messages playback. Sound works fine in other programs. The Faxworks Program seems to use the .VMF file format for it's sounds. When I randomly choose one of the .VMF files from the Greetings folder of Faxworks, I could not find a Program installed which would play a .VMF file. Also, I was unable to Save and convert the file to another format. Does anyone know of a program which I can download which will play this particular format? I have tried searching but only come up with a definition

" VMF -- Convox SpeechThing / Voice Master
Type: wave"

off the web.

I too, looked to see what was on the web, using a variety of searches and combinations of the term you mentioned and only came up with this:

Covox SpeechThing - The SpeechThing is connected to parallel port 1 by default and this is the basic set up in the procedure provided (equivalent to specifying parameter /P0). If the SpeechThing is attached to a different port on your computer it is necessary to include a parameter in the batch file to reflect this difference. If the parameter /P1 is included the sound driver provided will use parallel port 2; if /P2 is included the sound driver will use the parallel port 3. If any value other than 0, 1 or 2 is specified then that number is used directly as the port to output sound sample bytes to....
