Virus?????

have a laptop with win98 installed. When i go to click on any icons on desktop they move around and switch places so I cannot do what I want!!

Is this a virus or a program some rogue has installed??

Hi Sidamed,

More than likely a virus, a common one is, W32.Magistr.24876@mm, along with there other names, Magistr, PE_MAGISTR.A, W32.Magistr@mm, W32.Magistr.24876.int, W32/Disemboweler, W32.Magistr.corrupt, W32/Magistr-A

Thanks mesich. I am running a virus check on it... damn thing has almost 2 thousand infected files and I am only half way through!

You are welcome. The icons moving around on the desktop indicate the virus has been on the PC for a couple of months.
